Resources To Start Off Your Week 74

     This week I am really excited to have found some really practical resources that I know I can use right away in the classroom. I found one for math, one for art, and one for the general classroom! With there only being a few weeks left before school begins I am really happy to have found such applicable resources. As always, I will be adding these to my lists of resources under the Fav Websites heading.

1 ) Graphing Stories
- This project by Dan Meyer & BuzzMath is a neat, engaging way to
  practice graphing with your students. This website features short video
  clips depicting various real-life situations/stories that ask students to
  graph what they see. Students are provided with pre-labeled graphs &
  videos can be searched by type (constant, linear, increasing, etc).
- This website would be perfect for those teachers who do mental math
  with their students and I love the fact that students can actually see the
  real-life application as opposed to an abstract written question.

2 ) Reading Posters
- This posting features 24 different posters about reading that could be a
  great addition to a classroom or reading nook.
*Some posters do contain mature language & would need to be modified
  or altered before being used in the classroom.

3 ) You Made That
- This interactive from the NY Times allows users to create and share their original
  artwork. Users can chose from a variety of mediums including flowing ribbon,
  coloured salt, flower petals, stamps, and more.
- This website would be a fun activity for students to share their artwork and could
  be bookmarked on the class computer or iPads for students to explore if they are
  done work early.
